Job Description: Church Administrator/Project Manager (Part Time/Hourly)
One of the primary needs in our church is for someone to keep our administrative work and projects on schedule. This will require someone with the ability to stay on top of calendar items, and hold the pastoral team accountable to dates and to do lists. Because we are still a small church this role is a part time 15hour/week position. Office hours are not required, but it is necessary to have a mind toward execution and willingness to challenge senior members of the staff to accomplish goals in a timely manner.
The Church Administrator (CA) will report directly to Associate/Executive Pastor who will conduct annual reviews and be the CA’s primary support
The CA will have regular contact with and serve as general administrative support to the Pastors.
The CA will be expected to participate in all required staff meetings
The CA will interact with other staff and leaders of the church as necessary
The Church Administrator/Project Manager’s tasks and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
Tasks (with estimated times):
Help maintain and improve the church’s social media and website presence (<30 minutes)
Help produce and distribute e-newsletter (1 Hour)
Help with band scheduling and Sunday morning worship scheduling through Planning Center Online (30 minutes 1x week, + 2 hours monthly)
Serves as an administrator in MyRock (15 minutes)
Help maintain and update church calendar in MyRock. This will also include advanced strategic calendaring with staff. (<30 minutes weekly, 1 hour monthly, + annual calendering retreat)
Checking mail and helping process bills to our accountants.
Help Oversee Weekly counting of offering.
When needed, helps with administrative and organizational tasks for the church and its ministries.
Ordering office supplies (toner, paper, etc.)
Inputting and emailing newcomers (emailing newcomers should be handled by lead pastor, admin can assist)
Assist in organizing events
Meet the Rockers
Work with Overseers to help plan Partners Gatherings
Help with Christmas Concert Admin
Help with Easter service Admin (special orders, coordinating, planning, etc.)
If not a partner, will become a partner as soon as possible
This position is an hourly position with a max of 15 hours/week, paying $15/hr.
This position will be an ongoing position but subject to yearly budget approvals
4 year college degree preferred
4+ years previous administrative work experience highly preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong personality willing to (lovingly) hold senior members of staff accountable.
Detail-oriented, with strong multitasking and organizational abilities
Able to prioritize projects and work independently, yet maintain composure and flexibility in fast changing environment
Ability to learn and utilize our online church management system.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to maintain personable and professional interactions on behalf of the church and staff
Comfortable working with computer and web applications (MS Office, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Drive) and able to learn new systems quickly
Able to work flexible hours, with some nights and weekends
